KNURLED/THREADED PRODUCTS

For more effective fastening, higher strength, lower costs

  • Brainard manufacturers many styles of fasteners with various combinations of threads and/or knurls. Threaded fasteners are often described as screws, bolts or nuts. A bolt or screw consists of a head and a shank. Either part or all of the shank is threaded for various purposes. The head can be formed in numerous shapes, styles and sizes. Nuts are generally circular or hexagonal and have internal threads that allow them to connect to the threaded exterior of a bolt.
  • Knurled fasteners can be identified by their unique, external patterns that are designed primarily for easy-to-grip purposes. Some portion of the fastener will be distinguished with an angled, straight- or crisscrossed-line pattern.
  • Brainard’s newest roll threading machine is so advanced that parts with both a knurl and a thread can often enjoy improved efficiencies from having both processes executed in a single pass.
  • Many customers have enjoyed cost savings and stronger parts by purchasing cold-formed fasteners with threads or knurls that are rolled versus machined.
