Brainard Rivet Company is seeking a manually dexterous and mechanically inclined individual to perform duties essential to preparing customer products for pick up by shipping companies.
Brainard Rivet has been a World Class Supplier of Cold Headed Fasteners since 1916. We are 100% employee-owned and operated. We provide made-to-order custom fasteners while maintaining strict quality, customer service and on-time delivery standards.
The successful candidate will monitor customer shipping requirements and promise dates in order to maximize both on-time delivery and monthly quotas. Other responsibilities include the preparation of transport documents, operation of equipment to clean, sort, pack and/or load customer product, inspection of product prior to packing, organization and staging of shipments, maintenance of appropriate inventory levels, and behaviors required to ensure a clean, efficient, and safe working environment.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Proven basic math and computer skills
- Ability to perform regular heavy lifting (50lbs)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Detail oriented
- Multi-tasking ability / ability to adjust for last minute customer requests
- Problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
- Team-oriented
- Forklift certification preferred but not required
- FIFO / LIFO knowledge is preferred but not required
- Experience with calipers, micrometers, gages preferred but not required

Brainard Rivet wants your manual machining skills to help us produce and modify tooling, as well as perform basic building and equipment maintenance. Join our team of skilled machinists in providing essential support to our production work force.

A successful Brainard Rivet machinist sets up, operates and maintains shop equipment such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, drill presses and powered hand tools. They accurately interpret blueprints in their efforts to produce high quality tooling for manufacturing purposes. They keep their shared work space neat and organized for maximum tool life and efficiency.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of manual machining experience is required (5 years preferred)
- Manual lathes, milling machines, grinders, drill presses, powered hand tools
- Machine, vehicle and/or building maintenance experience preferred but not required
- Vocational Training, Apprenticeship or Technical Degree preferred
- 3-5 years of similar or related work experience is preferred but not required
- Genuine mechanical aptitude
- Manual dexterity, accuracy and attention to detail
- Tool & die experience is preferred
- Ability to use precision tools to take accurate measurements
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and manuals
- Knowledge of metal properties preferred
- Proven mathematical skills and analytical abilities
- Ability to perform heavy lifting
- Electrical experience preferred but not required
