Heat Treatment/Stress Relieving
Brainard Rivet utilizes a combination of on-site gas furnaces and external partners to provide a wide array of heat-treating options to customers. Alloy steels often benefit from stress relieving to eliminate undesirable properties. The most common heat-treating options are quenching, tempering, normalizing and annealing. These carefully performed and monitored processes influence mechanical properties such as strength, hardness, ductility, toughness, and wear resistance. Customer specifications, requirements and applications are used to determine which process(es) is best selected.
PPAP
Brainard Rivet supports any of our customers that require up to a Level 5 PPAP at no additional charge. This Part Production Approval Process provides confidence to the end user that all engineering design records and specification requirements are fully understood by the manufacturer and that all processes used in production can be relied upon to consistently provide the desired product. Brainard’s quality team has demonstrated decades of successful initial PPAP approval with our customers.
Parts that require additional testing and/or certification may incur processing fees.

Stock & Release Program
Brainard Rivet offers effective part stocking solutions that provide our customers improved pricing and lower overhead costs.
We can manufacture larger quantity blanket orders for maximum efficiency and cost savings. We store the parts safely in our warehouse. We then release smaller quantities to customers on an as-needed basis. We have the ability to update orders and forecasts on a daily basis to better accommodate the rapidly changing demands of business. Once our pipeline is built, we can ship as little as one box or as much as multiple skids with less than 24-hour notice.
Our program provides an affordable, Made-in-the-USA manufacturing option for high usage parts. We offer highly competitive pricing for our large quantity blanket customers. Brainard is well versed in this program and can supply parts weekly, monthly or quarterly. We are highly flexible and welcome any opportunity to discuss unique needs.

Labor Only Services
Brainard Rivet’s secondary department performs high quality operations on house-made, cold-formed fasteners of a wide variety. Our drilling department is renowned for their speed and excellence. We are excited to offer some of these services separately to existing and new customers. As of May 2021, Brainard Rivet now accepts requests for quotes to end-drill, groove, knurl, thread, shave or point carbon steel or stainless steel* products.
